The Precipice of Mental Health
Becoming Your Own Safe Space

In this remarkably reflective story about the societal issues of mental health, Redd opens up and shares a broader perspective through her journey through depression, anxiety, and atypical anorexia, including the impact that COVID-19 and its variants imparted on her battle, to prevent others from reaching the precipice of mental health.

The Precipice of Mental Health: Becoming Your Own Safe Space is full of Achea’s personal experiences in the trenches of her own mental health struggles, including eating disorders, panic attacks, and suicidal ideation. She reveals raw and valuable insight that will help readers understand themselves and others who suffer from mental illness—and let them know that their mental illness does not define them.

Anxiety and depression are what I have. They are not who I am.

Be Free, Be You

In today's culture of stress, competition, and perfect images, it's all too easy to hit rock bottom. Confronted by anxiety about our appearance, our performance, and ourselves, we can feel trapped, imprisoned by the person society expects us to be. The only way to escape that prison is to learn to love who we are—who we really are.

Be Free. Be You. is all about the journey to wholeness and happiness through loving and embracing the real you. With humor, empathy, and honesty, Achea Redd takes you through the ups and downs of her own life and uses her story to show you the path to self-love and authenticity. Let this book be your guide to finding happiness in the person you really are.

Authentic You

In many ways, adolescence feels like life as usual. Change happens really slowly, and often in ways we don’t expect. Life is a series of constant, gradual stages of transition, and you’re in the middle of a big one right now. Many people don’t realize how much they’ve changed until they look back in time. That makes sense, because we often see our past selves much more clearly than how we see ourselves in the moment.

I wrote this book as a guide for you, because things are changing, and change is always disruptive. In fact, it might suck.
